The movers are scheduled to arrive early Thursday morning. We are what the moving company “surveyor” generously described as “half packed”. The moving company will do the rest of the packing on Wednesday.
This past weekend we worked on the last minute home repair projects (fixing the hallway trim where the baby gate hung, repairing a cracked tile, patching holes in the living room wall) and organizing all of the necessary paperwork for the move.
Oh, and we also had a going away party for the boys. The Millers, our former next door neighbors and dear friends, came over. Mrs. Riddle came although her grandson Austin, Ethan’s playmate, was unable to attend. Andrew brought his mother and father along. And, as a great treat for Ethan, Choochie and Danzel arrived! Choochie was Ethan’s daycare provider from the time he was a toddler up until Ian was born.
We had cake, played the Wii, watched the kids play and yell, and enjoyed each other’s company. I’ll miss the moms in our neighborhood. We’ve been blessed to have five families on our street with children Ethan’s age. Watching them all grow up together has been an experience I’ll never forget.
