My cousin Andrew and his wife Beth welcomed little Eliza Marie into the world on Wednesday. She looks so tiny that I can't believe she's the same size Ethan was at birth.
Congratulations to the new parents and welcome to the family Eliza!

Photos of my second son!
As promised, photos of our little boy. These were taken Friday at our 20 week ultrasound.
Click on the picture to see more shots. My personal favorite is the shot of his two little feet side by side.

My very wonderful birthday
Yesterday, January 14th, was my birthday. It was a very blustery day- but unlike in my favorite Pooh story, no one's house fell down and there were no strange heffalumps to disturb our sleep.
Mark and Ethan made my cake (click on the picture for more photos) which we are enjoying far too much. Mark also suprised me with a gorgeous present (also pictured).
It was a nice relaxing day at home with my menfolk- all three of them! Everyone keeps asking what I did and seems shocked when I tell them I cleaned off my desk, took a long nap and watched TV. But for me, that is the ideal day. No lists of things to be done, no rushing about meeting deadlines- self-imposed or otherwise.
Our lives will, in a few months, be much fuller and much busier. Spending time just being a family was the best birthday present I've ever received.

Junebug the bouncing baby...
Well we had our ultrasound today. The tech, named Lacee, was very personable and walked us through every measurement she was taking. She explained what we were seeing, why she was measuring what she was measuring and shared her frustrations when Junebug bounced all over like one of those rubber bouncy balls we used to play with in middle school.
Now I know you all really only care about the sex, but I first have to tell you that Junebug is measuring a week ahead, which is good, and shows no signs of any congenital defects or problems. Everything about my body and Junebug's body looks perfect.
As for the big news.... well the color of this website is just perfect, because I am definitely outnumberd. That's right, another bouncing healthy little BOY is headed our way. He wasn't shy about showing us, either. In fact, he showed us right off!
I have some really adorable and heart-warming pictures but I don't have a scanner at home, so you'll have to wait a few days for those. Sorry.
Thanks for all the warm wishes and thoughts. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers for another 20 weeks or so. I will be 20 weeks pregnant on Monday.

A sunny day and Hello Daddy!
It's unusually warm here for January. This time last year I was worried that Mamma and Linda wouldn't be able to get to town because of the snowstorms that were forecast. This year it's in the mid 50's to high 60's. I really like having snow for my birthday, but it won't be happening this year.
I told Ethan that I was going to have a birthday and he went immediately into party planner mode. He decided that we were having cake, chocolate cake, and ice cream. We're also going to invite everyone Ethan knows. All of this will be "together Mamma. We have party together. I help you eat cake." Isn't he such a helpful lad?
On the "Hello Daddy" front, Junebug decided to kick his/her Daddy this morning. It was reassuring for me to feel the baby for the first time a few weeks ago, but it's just downright fun when baby kicks for Daddy.
The "big" ultrasound is this Friday afternoon. We will update you ASAP, because I know most of you are more anxious about this than we are!
