And lo one morning did a snake come into the garden. Eve did prod the serpent with the handle of the broom, being yellow, and determine that the serpent was an agent of ickiness.
Being a dutiful wife, Eve did appear before Adam and say: “There is a serpent of considerable length there in our garden. And the toads and the dog do be afeared.”
Adam did squeak and render forth many imperfect words that duly translated meant: "Go forth wench and slay the foul beast. I shall stay here and protect the small human men from undue curiosity.”
Eve, loving all creatures, but not so much the mice and rats, which snakes do eat, did plead her plan to fling said snake high into the air and over the garden wall. Adam was unamused and spake that there would be no snake flinging. Verily the pest should be slain.
Eve, armed with the holy Yellow Broom and the Shovel of Smiting did venture forth again to do battle with the hissing pest.
Alas, the serpent had traveled yon from the garden- probably in search of apples, or, perhaps, fewer humans with brooms.
Eve returned, distraught at her failure.
Adam did say: “Some snake wrangler you are. Throw it over the wall indeed.”
