The face of St. Mark's. We arrived after 6pm so the basilica was closed for tours, but we enjoyed roaming around the square and exploring the bell-tower. The tide was out and the square was completely dry.
San Giorgio Maggiore, located on an island in the lagoon near the terminus of the Grand Canal.
Look toward d'Salute, during sunset, from the belltower Campanile di San Marco. The ride to the top of the tower was definitely worth the 8 Euros per person. We were up there at the half hour mark when 2 of the huge bells rang. My ears still hurt....
